Explore scientific concepts in a fun way!  Chatham High School students Lea and Jack Casano-Boris lead experiments followed by an explanation of the science behind each one.  This is the second in a series of six programs which you can view on our website.  Registration opens two weeks prior to each program.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 8

Music with Carolyn Dempsey – 10 or 10:45 am

For preschoolers and their caregivers

Move, shake, dance and sing to Carolyn’s guitar music!

Braiding Workshop with Michele Arnold – 4 to 5 pm

Grades 3 to 5              Limit:  20 children

Registration required – sign up here.

This class will teach easy hair braiding techniques.  Michele will demonstrate the styles on a mannequin and children will then practice on each other.  Sign up with a friend to partner with and make it fun for both of you!  Come with your own brush and freshly brushed hair.

Ⓣ Hair Styling and Braiding Workshop for Teens – 5 to 6 pm

Grades 6 to 8              Limit:  20 participants

Cinema214: Pokémon Detective Pikachu (PG, 104 min.) – 7 pm

Ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son, Tim, to find out what happened.  Aiding in the investigation is Harry's former Pokémon partner, wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth Detective Pikachu.  Finding that they are uniquely equipped to work together, as Tim is the only human who can talk with Pikachu, they join forces to unravel the tangled mystery.  Refreshments will be served.  Sponsored by Friends of the Library
