On March 20, 1969 in Dau Tieng, Viet Nam, Lieutenant David Szumowski’s tank platoon came under fire where he was blinded by shrapnel from a direct hit by a grenade. In November of that year David went to the Seeing Eye to be matched with his first dog, a German shepherd. He went on to earn a law degree from the University of Denver in 1973, and later he and his wife moved to San Diego where he became an attorney in a private practice, then an assistant district attorney, appointed a municipal judge, and a year later became a Superior Court Judge for the County of San Diego. Please join us for a virtual presentation with the Honorable David Szumowski who will speak about his recent memoir, Reach for More.
