Storytime is an 8-week, progressive program for preschoolers and their caregivers.

Registration required

24 months and younger – 9:45 am

4 to 6 years – 10:15 am

2 to 3 years – 11 am

Book Group:  The Library Book – 1 pm

The group will discuss The Library Book by Susan Orlean.  You may pick up a copy of the book at the Information Desk.

Spooky Halloween Cupcakes – 3:30 to 4:30 pm

Grades 6 to 12                        Limit: 12 students

Use cookies, candy, frosting, and other frightfully delicious decorations to make two Halloween-inspired cupcake designs.

Ⓒ Homework Helpers – 3:30 to 5 pm

Registration required – sign up here.

Two Chatham High School students will provide homework help for children in Grades K to 5.  All subjects welcome

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 31

Halloween Parade – 10 am to 12 noon

Meet in the Children’s Room and join the parade around the library grounds.  Bring your camera for photo ops with some larger-than-life characters!

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1

Video Game Club – 3 to 4:45 pm

Grades 6 to 12

NEW: Nintendo Switch is here!  Stop by to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch on the big screen!  Feel free to bring your own Joy-Cons or Switch Pro controller and play with friends.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2

Drop-In Storytime – 11 am

For children of all ages.  No registration required.

Ⓒ Super Science for Kids: Make Your Own Ice Cream – 2 pm

Grades K to 3              Limit: 10 students

Explore scientific concepts in a fun way!  Chatham High School students Lea and Jack Casano-Boris lead a new series of experiments followed by an explanation of the science behind each experiment.  Coming up: Lava Lamp/Density (November 16).  Registration opens 15 days prior to each class.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3

Art Show by Pam Gosner Opening Reception – 2:15 to 4 pm

New Providence resident Pam Gosner will hold a show of her pastel and acrylic paintings that include landmarks in France and scenery in U.S. National Parks.  The show may be viewed during regular library hours through November.  Reception sponsored by Friends of the Library.
