National Dance Day Celebration

The Connection is offering a day of dance for all ages to celebrate National Dance Day on Saturday, July 28th. All activities are free and open to the public.

National Dance Day was launched in 2010 by “So You Think You Can Dance” co-creator and Dizzy Feet Foundation co-president Nigel Lythgoe, National Dance Day is an annual celebration that takes place on the last Saturday in July. This grassroots campaign encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health and fight obesity. NDD achieved national recognition when Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) introduced a congressional resolution declaring the last Saturday in July to be the country’s official National Dance Day.

Donations are welcome; all proceeds will be divided between The Connection and the Dizzy Feet Foundation.  The Connection Dance Team will hold a snack sale throughout the day. Check out and practice the Official National Dance Day Routines at http://dizzyfeetfoundation.org/national-dance-day
