PolarTREC: Glacial Science Research Livestream from the Swiss Alps

Join us for a livestream broadcast from the mountains of Switzerland as PolarTREC researchers Dr. Lauren Neitzke Adamo, director of the Rutgers Geology Museum, and Dr. Lucas Noet, Assistant Professor of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, examine the sliding laws of glaciers - the rate at which glaciers slide into the ocean due to melting. This exciting research can help predict the future glacial change that may occur at Earth's poles.

PolarTREC (Teachers & Researchers Exploring & Collaborating) is a program in which teachers (both formal and informal) spend 3-6 weeks participating in hands-on field research experiences in the polar regions. The goal of PolarTREC is to invigorate polar science education and understanding by bringing educators and polar researchers together.
