Serenity and Majesty, Durufle Requiem

We invite you to sooth your spirit with Durufle’s magnificent Requiem, performed by the Masterwork Chorus, featuring soloists Mary Pat Finucane and Dimitri Lazich. Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem is a work that guides the bereaved through the desperate emotions associated with the death of a loved one, using quietly soothing melodies and harmonies. But there are also moments that help us feel the majesty of Heaven. The organ will enhance the evening with solo pieces and music by Hobert Parry, Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn, and Charles Villiers Stanford. The concert will be performed on Sunday March 15, at 4:00pm. St. Vincent Martyr Church, Madison, N.J. To purchase tickets for this musical journey, please visit www.masterwork.org.

Masterwork Chorus is over 100 voices.  Founded in 1955, the non-profit chorus is dedicated to enrich, delight and support the cultural life of the community through high-quality inspiring choral performances.

Mayor Mike Kelly Should Stop Playing Amateur Lawyer and Do the Right Thing

April 7, 2020

To the Editor:

There is certainly a lot to “unpack” in Mayor Mike Kelly’s letter to this publication yesterday. However, to the extent that he misleads the people of Chatham Township, seeks to obfuscate his total failure to lead, and, in a truly bizarre development, deems to provide us with his legal analysis, we will address each of his points in turn.

We’ll ...

April 6, 2020

This story first ran on TAPinto East Brunswick.

How does a family have a Passover seder, usually a big event with a sumptuous table, games for kids, shared readings and lots of sweet wine, when practicing social distancing? Most of us are at home now, in small family groups, by ourselves or alone during this festival. Even the profit Elijah may be hesitant to come to the door, no ...
