CHATHAM, NJ - The Borough of Chatham Council passed a resolution that authorizes the 2020 summer concert series set for the Gazebo in Reasoner Park at the council's regular meeting held Monday night.
The concerts will be held on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The six scheduled dates are June 25, July 9, July 23, Aug. 6, Aug. 20 and Sept. 3. The borough is seeking sponsors for the concerts.
The borough held a "pilot" concert last Aug. 30 and that led to a full schedule of six concerts for this summer, starting June 25 and followed by two concerts in July, two in August, with the end-of-summer concert set for Sept. 3.
"We are in the process of lining up local artists," Janice Piccolo, director of community services for the borough, said.
In other business, the council adopted an ordinance that sets the hourly rates for part-time municipal positions. The hourly rates range from a minimum of $11 to a maximum of $41.
The council also introduced an ordinance for a special appropriation of $175,000 for revaluation of real property in the borough. The data will be used by the local tax assessor and for tax map updates. The revaluation has been mandated by the county.
Council President Jocelyn Mathiasen announced that the preliminary budget presentation for Chatham Borough will be made at the March 23 meeting.
Chatham Borough Administrator Steve Williams said that the borough will conduct its one-time brush pickup on March 16.
