CHATHAM, NJ - The Chatham Borough Planning Board approved the application for a "change in permitted use" that will allow for a new French pastry shop to open on Main Street, it was announced at the regular meeting of the Borough of Chatham Council on Monday night.

Chatham Borough resident, Patrica Khawand, who owns Fleur de Sel - Entertain in Style, will be the owner of the new shop at 265 Main Street. The location was the longtime home of Helen's Dressmaking Shop, which closed last year.

The planning board approved the application at its Feb. 20 meeting. According to Chatham Borough Council member Thad Kobylarz, Khawand is targeting an August opening.
