RANDOLPH, NJ - The Chatham High School Marching Band secured a first place victory in Division 1 at Randolph’s 46th annual ‘Under The Stars’ competition Saturday night.
The CHS Marching Band also received top honors in all caption awards for Best Guard, Best Music, and Best Percussion. The Cougars rounded out their clean sweep with the highest score of all the bands in the first half of the show.
Under the direction of Brian Conti, the CHS Marching Band performed its 2019 show "Through the Ages", complete with eight-foot towers displaying stunning visuals from the Ice Age, Dark Age, the Age of Enlightenment, and the Modern Age.
When asked about the performance, Drum Major Mckenzie Golden was all smiles: “The Randolph crowd was so supportive as always and their energy flowed right into show.”
The CHS Marching Band has concluded its competitive season but there is still a chance to catch its award-winning show at the final two Cougar home football games – Homecoming (Oct. 12) and Cougar Night (Oct. 19).
