Chatham High School Theatre students were recognized on Jan. 12 at the New Jersey Governor’s Awards, which were held at Montclair State University.

Senior Emily Alfano and senior Jillian Roche won second place in Improvisational Pairs, and senior Matt Markay and sophomore Andrew Palmieri won second place in Comedic Pairs.

Freshman Braden Mellina was a finalist is Comedic Monologues, and sophomore Sara Paul was a finalist in Contrasting Monologues.

“Every year I am continually amazed by the talent and work ethic of these young actors," Laura Russo, CHS theatre teacher, said.
The competition was tough and I am beyond thrilled about this year's results. The performances and support shown by fellow CHS theatre students was incredible."
