CHATHAM, NJ - When Scott Anderson was thinking about where to locate his tile store, he remembered where he grew up and decided to open Charleston Tile and Stone on Main Street in Chatham.
The store officially opened Saturday at 100 Main Street with a ribbon-cutting ceremony
"I was the last graduating class of Chatham Township High before they merged," Anderson said. "I grew up in the township and lived in the borough for a while."
Anderson pointed out that Charleston Tile and Stone is the only store in the area that sells both interior and exterior tiles.
One of the first jobs Anderson had as a teenager was working at Fairmount Country Club. He then started his own landscape contracting business before transitioning to Charleston Tile and Stone.
In the spring, Anderson plans on making house calls with a mobile display truck that will allow customers to select tile from their home or construction site.
