Dance Innovations Dance & Performing Arts Studio under the artistic direction of Susan M. Coutts has been an anchor in Chatham for the past 30+ years. Located at 3 Townsquare the studio is known for its high standards in the arts, innovative training, and service to the community, those with special challenges and to those less fortunate and to its dedication to the community.

Under “normal conditions” the studio offers a variety of dance styles and performance opportunities giving their preschool – adult students more than 100 classes to choose from in styles ranging from Contemporary & Classical Ballet, Tap, Pointe & Lyrical to Modern, Hip Hop, Tap, Funk Jazz, Musical Theater and so much more. . During these challenging time DI is maintaining communication with and classes for their students via Zoom allowing them to keep up both physically and mentally with their education as well as help them release their “school time & social distancing” pressures through an art form that they love.  Physical activity is paramount in these social distancing times but when you can pair that up with challenging the mind through creativity and passion – Dance is priceless!



Their performing groups–which perform not only locally but nationally have continued via Zoom so that when we all get the word they can go right back to serving the community with benefit performances to help others who may be in need. Dance Innovations also prides itself in the art and science of dance therapy for the physically and emotionally challenged. Thus, even classes for Envision Dance Exchange (an integrated dance & creative movement company for dancers of all abilities) have continued with these special students and their area High school able-bodied partners can “dance” side by side encouraging and enhancing their growth, pride and confidence.
