CHATHAM, NJ - At the May 11 Chatham Board of Education meeting, Chatham Superintendent Michael LaSusa held out hope that some sort of graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 could be held in July behind the high school.
That possibility moved closer to reality on Tuesday morning when Gov. Phil Murphy announced that "in-person" graduation ceremonies could be held in New Jersey, starting July 6. The ceremonies must be held outside with social distancing rules in place, according to the governor's announcement.
The BOE had discussed a way to celebrate the CHS Class of 2020 at its May 11 BOE meeting.
