Chatham High School students placed in various events at the North and Central Jersey Physics Olympics competition, held at Monmouth Regional High School on Jan. 18.

Overall, CHS team placed third in the entire competition, competing against more than twenty teams.

 Liam High and Ethan Walker competed in the Cartesian Diver event, where they placed second overall.

Annesha Ghosh and Yekta Semani competed in the Newspaper Bridge event, where they placed third overall.

CHS also had two teams of two that weren’t able to attend that competed in the Pringles Package event. One of these teams was Ryan Storm and Steven Garcia, who placed third overall.

 Five Chatham High School students and two teachers attended the event. The five students were Ethan Walker, Liam High, Michael Briganti, Annesha Ghosh, and Yekta Samani. The two teachers were Ben Lee and Dave Bandel. 

 CHS Physics teacher Dave Bandel said, “We attended the event short-handed with no expectation for the day or any particular event. Placing top three in three of the six events was a nice surprise. Placing third overall was an unexpected surprise.”
