To the Editor:
This year, Chatham Borough will see a major turnover in the governing council, with the departure of Mayor Bruce Harris and two council members. This means that your vote will have a major impact on our community leadership going forward.
Council Member Thad Kobylarz, now a candidate for mayor, has done an exceptional job on Borough Council. He’s pro-active, hard-working, and deeply thoughtful in his decision making. He and his exceptionally qualified running mates, Irene Treloar and Karen Koronkiewicz, are campaigning in part on promoting more events that help build our community, such as the very successful concert held last year at the Gazebo. I believe strongly in these community-building events, which is partly why I spearheaded the creation of our farmers’ market when I served on the Chatham Borough Council. Since that time, I’ve been thrilled to see the market become central to our community’s identity, part of what makes Chatham Chatham.
In addition, Thad, Irene and Karen have concrete plans to address our growing traffic issues and hold taxes in check; their impressive legal and finance qualifications will ensure that our government is well run and earn excellent returns on the investments on the behalf of our taxpayers.
I look forward to voting for this team on November 5th and encourage you to do the same.
