To the Editor:
I have known Celeste Fondaco for many years, most recently as a member of the Art League of the Chathams. Celeste became president of the league soon after she joined and has continued to be a calm and steady hand both behind the scenes and as cochair of exhibits. She is quick to offer help and takes on tasks wherever she sees a need.
A longtime resident of Chatham Township, Celeste takes the same approach to needs in the community. She once spearheaded a successful effort to return a county-imposed four-lane stretch of Shunpike Road near Noe Avenue to a safer two lanes, and has applied her deep concern for the environment as a member of the Township’s Open Space Committee and the Tree Committee.
As a Township Committee member, Celeste will use her endless energy, which she once poured into ultramarathons and triathlons, to serve the longterm interests of all residents.
