To the Editor:
Dear friends, former neighbors and Chatham Township residents,
As a former Chatham Township Committee member and longtime Township resident, I have followed the committee’s governance of the township in recent years and believe that voters have a very clear choice next Tuesday. I strongly support the election of Mark Hamilton and his running mate, Rez Estevez to the Chatham Township Committee. I have known Mark for over ten years having made his acquaintance through various local activities and believe he is a person of integrity and well-qualified to represent all Township residents’ interests. He possesses the necessary business and legal experience, which I believe provides an excellent foundation and background as a committee member responsible for running all aspects of the Township government. After meeting with Mark this fall to discuss his candidacy, platform and approach to the Township’s municipal oversight, I was even more impressed and encouraged with his balanced approach and understanding of complex issues facing the Township such as affordable housing.
Mark Hamilton & Rez Estevez view the oversight of the Township similarly to my view (that is shared by many), which is to run the Township in a fiscally responsible way seeking to keep taxes in check while providing the highest level of service and experience for residents. They believe, as I do, that Chatham Township is truly a special place to reside and raise a family. They will do their absolute best to deliver that high quality of life in the coming years if you choose to elect them. In this current environment of hyper-partisanship, I believe both Mark and Rez’s leadership profiles are uniquely suited to listening and understanding the concerns of all Chatham residents, while at the same time maintaining a fiscally disciplined approach to Township governance. Having lived in the Township for twenty years, I, like the majority of Township residents, understand the burden of high taxes living in communities such as Chatham. I believe that Mark Hamilton and Rez Estevez will do their absolute best to keep the municipal component of your residential real estate taxes under control without placing unnecessary burdens on Township residents.
Please cast your vote next Tuesday, November 5th for Mark Hamilton and Rez Estevez to continue Chatham Township’s long history of being managed by fiscally responsible, resident-focused and level-headed leadership. The choice is clear—Hamilton and Estevez.
