To the Editor:
I am taking this opportunity to advise of my support of Chatham Township Mayor Tayfon Selen for re-election in the June 4th Township election.
I have come to be acquainted with Mayor Selen over two years ago, and more recently as a member of the Chatham Township Republican Committee.
During this time, I have witnessed Mayor Selen interact with several governmental leaders in the Republican Party in Morris County, in several communities. I have seen the positive opinion which several community leaders have in Mr. Selen, to include Morris County Sheriff, James Gannon and several other elected officials in Morris County, as well as other regions of New Jersey.
This situation has helped put Chatham Township in a positive position in the competitive governmental landscape in New Jersey, which is critical in my assessment in the current political climate in Trenton and the rest of New Jersey, one of the states with the highest State Income Taxes, Property Taxes & housing prices.
I am supporting Mayor Selen considering his record regarding local taxes; leadership and interest in working with several people in the local community and beyond. I believe he is a political moderate and has the energy to reach out to many people, including individuals who are not Republican, such as Independents, which in New Jersey is important.
