To the Editor:
I am writing to urge Chatham Borough residents to vote for Irene Treloar for Chatham Borough Council on November 5. I met Irene nine years ago when we both lived in Hoboken and had maternity leave with our daughters, who were born just two days apart. I moved to Chatham because I thought it was the perfect place to raise my family, and when Irene visited me as she toured Chatham looking for her own house, I was thrilled. Irene has the kind of energy and community spirit that make her a great neighbor.
Keeping our Chatham environment clean, safe, healthy, and green is a top priority for me. Irene has been an advocate for environmental issues in Chatham over the past few years, keeping me and my family apprised of efforts to protect our environment. She was part of an active group of residents who pushed Chatham Borough to stop using pesticides on Borough fields, which I feel is critical for my children’s health. She has been highly supportive of the plastic bag ordinance that will soon be implemented and has participated in events to educate the community about electric vehicles. I have confidence that she will continue to pursue initiatives that will make Chatham a healthy place to live, as we raise our children together in this beautiful town.
I hope you will join me in putting our community’s environment first by voting for Irene Treloar for Borough Council on November 5.
