CHATHAM, NJ - Hoping to cash in on the Morris County Trail Construction Program, the Borough of Chatham Council approved a $100,000 grant application to fund a pedestrian trail at Garden Park at its regular meeting on Monday night.
According to Vince DeNave, borough engineer, the one-third mile trail would ring Garden Park and be made out of the same pervious asphalt used for the trail at Shepard Kollock Park in Chatham.
DeNave explained the reasoning behind seeking the grant for Garden Park in the video below.
In the future, the council would consider the next steps to refurbish the tennis courts and other amenities at Garden Park. DeNave estimated that it will take between $600-$700,000 overall to refurbish the park in the video below.
