CHATHAM, NJ - Irene Treloar won the election last November and then she did the research in preparation for her first day as a member of the Borough of Chatham Council.

Treloar noted that she and fellow newcomer Karen Koronkiewicz became the 14th and 15th female members of the Borough of Chatham Council when they were sworn into three-year terms on Monday night at the borough's 2020 reorganization meeting.

Although they represent a statistical minority of the 130 members to serve on the Borough of the Chatham Council, the addition of Treloar and Koronkiewicz made the 2020 council a majority-female governing body, joining Jocelyn Mathiasen and Carolyn Dempsey on the six-member council.
