To the Editor:
Dear Neighbors - I don’t know if you are aware of the redevelopment projects for Chatham which include a 249 unit apartment complex on River Road and Watchung Avenue and the planned 5 story, 23
0 unit complex known as Post Office Plaza (the buildings and adjourning plaza and parking areas behind the Main Street businesses in the South Passaic area), but I do know that we as a community have not grasped the consequences such as increased traffic congestion, tax consequences, utility services, fire and police emergency response, school population impact, etc.; and the more information that “dribbles out” and made public, the more against this redevelopment the community is voicing.
Please consider attending the Council Meeting this Thursday, 12/19 at 7:30 p.m. at Chatham Borough Hall to hear and voice concerns about going forward with this particular redevelopment project. This is time-sensitive as the Council’s decision and contract signings are scheduled for early next year.
Thank you and hope to see you at the meeting; please consider inviting others to attend and/or forward to other neighbors.
Please come to the meeting tonight Thursday - 12/19 at 7:30 - Chatham Borough Municipal Building.
