CHATHAM, NJ - The 100th anniversary of the founding of Chatham Boy Scout Troop 8 was recognized at the Chatham Township Committee meeting held Thursday night.
Mayor Curt Ritter read into the record a proclamation honoring Troop 8, which was founded in 1916. The proclamation pointed out the dedicated service to the Chatham Community and noted that more than 150 Eagle Scouts have been produced by Troop 8.
Troop 8 Scouts Brad Rindos, Matthew Goldstein, Gavin Mayes, Trey Helman and Ryan Mayes presented the colors and led the Pledge of Allegiance to start the meeting on Thursday. They were accompanied by Scout Master Ed Mostert and assistant Tony Britt.
Helman also addressed the committee about his Eagle Scout project at the meeting (see video below).
