CHATHAM, NJ - Tamar Lawful was introduced as the new Borough of Chatham Clerk during the regular meeting of the Borough Council on Monday night.
Chatham Borough Administrator Steve Williams has been filling the role of clerk ever since Robin Kline resigned March 25 to take a similar position in Mendham.
Lawful, a graduate of Drew University, comes to Chatham from South River, where she served as the clerk for the past year and also was the secretary for the planning and zoning boards.
Previously, she was employed by the Borough of East Rutherford, performing as deputy municipal clerk, deputy registrar and in the accounts payable department. Lawful is a Registered Municipal Clerk for the state of New Jersey and also is a Certified Municipal Registrar.
