CHATHAM, NJ - A reported case of Coronavirus in Chatham Township on Friday put the total of confirmed cases in the Chathams at 19.

The largest increase in Coronavirus cases in the Chathams was reported on Thursday with five adults testing positive in Chatham Borough and two more cases confirmed in Chatham Township.

That puts the Borough's confirmed cases at 11 and the Township at eight.

The Chatham Borough Health Officer said that the new cases included an "18-year-old male, a 28-year-old male and a 37-year-old female, a 47-year-old female and a 70-year-old female."

No details were provided by Chatham Township, but Mayor Michael Kelly said that state statistics say that most cases have been confirmed in older adults (see video below).

For patient confidentiality purposes, specific details will not be released. As is standard protocol, the health departments are monitoring and investigating the case including contact tracing and notifying appropriate parties.
