Avery Brown Sets Chatham 200-Meter Dash Record; Breaks 24-Year-Old Record Set by Darren Gordon in 1994

CHATHAM, NJ -After a review of the season records by coach Patrick Barry, it was discovered that Chatham High senior Avery Brown established a new school record last month in the 200-meter dash which had stood since 1994.

In finishing second at the NJAC Championships, Brown clocked 22.48 in the 200, eclipsing the Chatham outdoor track record of 22.5 set by Darren Gordon in 1994.

Chatham Sixth Grade Boys Win G8 Lacrosse Tournament

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ - The Chatham Boys Sixth-Grade "A" Lacrosse team swept its way to the championship of the G8 Lacrosse Tournament.

Chatham Lum Field Closed for New Turf Installation

CHATHAM, NJ - Lum Field, adjacent to the ECLC school, is closed to the public due to renovation.

In November, the Borough of Chatham Council adopted a bond ordinance to cover the $385,000 cost of the turf replacement. The original turf was installed in 2006.

The recreation trust fund provided $110,000 of the cost and the Chatham Athletic Foundation donated $100,000 toward the project.

Chatham 11-Year-Old Barrett Raises his Game in Winning Fishawack 1-Mile Fun Run

CHATHAM, NJ - Lafayette School student Joe Barrett runs the mile and 800 for the youth track program in Chatham, but the 11-year-old saved his best in winning the Fishawack 1-Mile Fun Run on Saturday.

Barrett came into the run owning a 5:49 personal record in the mile, which he smashed by 16 seconds in clocking 5:33 to place first in the race.
