CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham seniors Ahmer Kahan, Vincent Liu, Aidan West, Jacob Mahon, Nate Eck, Ryan Yeakel, and Dylan Salinger were honored at their final home NJAC meet on Thursday night.

This week is also NJSIAA Winter sports Referee Appreciation Week. The Cougar and Colt boys took time to show their appreciation to their referee for the evening, George LaTorre, with a group picture before fencing.

Round one score: Chatham 8, Kinnelon 1 (Sabres 3-0, Foils 3-0, Epees 2-1)
Senior Vincent Liu kicked off the sabres with a 5-0 shutout. Preston Yen followed with a 5-1. Henry Epstein tipped a tied bout in his favor for a round one sabre sweep. Senior foils Jacob Mahon, Nate Eck, and Aidan West, foil squad captain, added a squad round sweep of their own to put Chatham up 6-0. Senior Ahmer Khan, team and epee captain, kept the heat high with a 5-0 shut out. Senior Vedant Kudalkar added a 5-2 victory. Kinnelon's A-strip epee running in the C-strip position took the only win for the Colts in round one.

Round two score: Chatham 3, Kinnelon 6 (Sabres 2-1, Foils 1-2, Epees 0-3)
Kinnelon took full advantage of the second round rotation during the Chatham Senior Night. Sabres Yen and Liu sandwiched 5-1 wins around a sabre loss to Kinnelon. Foil senior Ryan Yeakel worked hard for a tied bout that included nearly a dozen simultaneous actions with no touch scored. The Colt fencer tipped the final fifth point. Senior Dylan Salinger fell to his Kinnelon opponent after a sincere effort. Jayden Halkiopoulus added a 5-1 win for the foils. The Colt epees took all three epee bouts for the round, including a close tied bout with Alex Lee.

Round three score: Chatham 8, Kinnelon 1 (Sabres 3-0, Foils 3-0, Epees 2-1) Final Score 19-8
Epstein, Liu, and Yen finished strong posting scores of 5-1, 5-0, and 5-1 respectively and a squad round sweep. Foils West, Mahon, and Eck followed suit with 5-0, 5-1, and 5-4. Raaid Khan added a 5-0 epee shut out, followed by a win from Ahmer Khan. The Colts took the final bout of the evening.

Seniors West, Mahon, Eck, and Liu went undefeated for the night. The Chatham Boys' team is the only remaining undefeated boys' team in the NJAC conference.
