CHATHAM, NJ - The wet weather contributed to a dreary end of the season for the Chatham boys soccer team on Tuesday with a 1-0 home loss to West Morris in the opening round of the state tournament at Cougar Field.
"It was a tough one," Chatham coach Mark Maka said. "We just couldn't find that final ball, that final goal."
Brendan Flores knocked in a rebound of a saved shot in the 26th minute to give West Morris (11-4-3) the lead it would never relinquish. Chatham (7-8-2) dominated the action in the second half, pressing forward, but couldn't get the tying goal past Wolverine goalie Caden Pellito.
