NEW YORK - Senior Sam Dennerlein closed out his boys winter track competition in 2019 with another win at the Pietrewicz Polar Bear Invitational, taking first in the shot put on Monday at the New York Armory.

Dennerlein, who set the school record earlier this season, won the Pietrewicz championship with a throw of 52 feet, 3 inches.

Chatham's 4x400 relay team of Mike Culleton, Patrick Grosso, Anthony Scerbo, and Sam Viola placed fourth with a time of 3:31.46, improving the team mark in the event this season by 11 seconds.

1st Place:  Sam Dennerlein;  Shot Put;  52 feet, 3 inches.
