RED BANK, NJ - Declan Curry scored on a power-play in the second period, snapping a string of 17 straight periods without a goal for the Chatham boys ice hockey team during a 4-2 loss to Rumson-Fair Haven, ranked No. 16 in the state by NJ.com, on Monday at the Red Bank Armory.
Curry's goal off a pass from Danny Mahoney was the first goal scored by Chatham (8-8-2) since a 3-1 win over Vernon on Jan. 20. Rowan Goldin's second goal of the game staked Rumson (12-2-3) to a 4-1 advantage.
Ryan Sordillo scored his 13th goal of the season for Chatham off a pass from Korey Kleinle. It was the fifth straight loss for the Cougars.
