MORRISTOWN, NJ - Senior goalie Jen Olnowich turned away 27 shots, 18 in the second period alone when 7th-seeded Chatham blanked No. 10 Mahwah in the opening round of the NJSIAA Public C boys state ice hockey tournament on Thursday night at Mennen Sports Arena.

Will White scored an unassisted power-play goal in the second period to give Chatham (11-9-2) a 1-0 lead. It was White's second goal of the season - his first since the season opener on Nov. 30 vs. Madison - breaking a personal stretch of 20 games without a goal.

Junior forward Ryan Sordillo netted his team-leading 14th goal in the third period for the Cougars, which was set up by senior defenseman Danny Mahoney. It was Mahoney's sixth assist of the season.

Chatham advances to meet No. 2 seed Lakeland (20-3-2) on Monday in the state quarterfinals.
