MADISON, NJ - Anthony Scerbo set a school record in the 600-meter run in placing second and Sam Dennerlein won the shot put on Thursday when Chatham opened the Winter Track & Field season in the DeSchriver Invitational held at Drew University.
Scerbo's time of 1:26.31 broke the Chatham record of 1:26.52 set by Jack Lennox in 2002.
Dennerlein unloaded a throw of 51 feet, 3/4 inches in the shot put to take first place. The throw was four inches shy of his older brother Ed's school mark in the event.
Other highlights included Tom DePinto's personal-best leap of 5 feet, 10 inches in the high jump and Ben Krill's 6.78 time in the 55-meter dash, .03 shy of the school record.
