CHATHAM, NJ - Senior midfielder Nick Suter scored two goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half to break open a scoreless game and spark Chatham's 3-1 boys soccer victory over Morristown-Beard in the second round of the Morris County Tournament played Sunday at Cougar Field.
The win for No. 8 seed Chatham (5-2-2) has earned it an MCT quarterfinal-round matchup with top-seeded Delbarton.
Chatham senior Ian Kagan had been fouled in the penalty area, setting up Suter's penalty kick that made it 2-0 before Morristown-Beard (8-2) scored to cut the deficit to 2-1. Cougar sophomore Gabriel Toledo clinched the win by connecting on a 20-yard free kick.
