CHATHAM, NJ - Sophomore sabre Kat Xikes and sophomore foil Samantha Serban extended their unbeaten girls fencing seasons for Chatham during the Cougars' 17-10 loss to Millburn in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday at the Chatham Middle School.

Round one score: Chatham 4, Millburn 5 (Sabres 3-0, Foils 1-2, Epees 0-3)
The sophomore sabre of Kat Xikes, Nylah Haq, and Sara Fidler opend the meet with round one sweep. Sophomore foil Samantha Serban added a fourth bout the win column. The Millburn girls responded by taking all five of the remaining round one bouts.

Round two score: Chatham 2, Millburn 7 (Sabres 1-2, Foils 1-2, Epees 0-3)
Only Xikes and Serban were able to pull in a win in the second round with scores of 5-3 and 5-0 respectively, while Millburn chalked up seven more.

Xikes and Haq each won their final sabre bouts, as did Serban in foil. Sophomore epee Annesha Ghosh secured the only epee win for the night.
