CLARK, NJ – The Clark Police Department hosted their fourth annual ‘National Night Out’ event on Tuesday evening. Officers barbequed and mingled with residents in this night designed to bring first responders and the community together.
“The is our fourth year of doing this and it is great. This community does so much for us throughout the year, this is our way of giving back,” said Detective Brian Soos. “We are so fortunate to work in a pro-police community, everyone is so supportive, the residents, the mayor, the council, just everyone.”
The Fire Department, Volunteer Emergency Squad, Office of Emergency Management and the CERT team joined the Clark Police at the event. Emergency responders spent their time demonstrating equipment, sharing their experiences and socializing with residents and neighbors while lively music pumped out from the DJ booth.
Members of the Clark Explorers Program were on hand to assist their mentors this year. The Explorer program is part of a nationwide effort to provide young adults with real world experiences in law enforcement and other careers.
