CLARK, NJ - The Arthur L. Johnson chapter of the National Honor Society had their induction ceremony at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27 at the Gran Centurions, where the 19 previous members welcomed 24 new members.
At the ceremony, Dr. Giannattasio was honored for being the NHS Teacher of the Year. Members also honored Mrs. Anne Marciano, the organization’s adviser, on her upcoming retirement.
The National Honor Society is an organization for junior and senior students in high school who meet the criteria of their specific chapter. Being inducted into the National Honor Society requires students to show great character, scholarship, leadership, and service.
For students at Arthur L. Johnson to be considered as a member of the Society, they must have a minimum of a 4.15 GPA as well as having good character, leadership, and service. Each student that reaches the academic requirement then fills out an extensive application to be reviewed anonymously.
