CLARK, NJ – The stands were filled with cheering spectators on Friday, October 4, for the Annual Arthur L. Johnson Homecoming Weekend festivities and football game. The excitement of Homecoming was in the air throughout the first half of the game as the ALJ Crusaders took on their long-time rival Governor Livingston.
At half time, the Clark Police Hummer rolled into Crusader stadium filled with the candidates for king and queen. Crowning a king and queen at a football game has become an ALJ tradition.
The candidates for queen chosen from the senior class were Ally Bowen, Brooke Gallo, Katherine Fitzharris, Taylor Turek and Nicole Randazza. For king, the candidates were Pat Brennan, Max Carmino, Joey Kaulfers, Bobby Lukasiewicz, and Dom Vito.
After drum rolls and fanfare, Patrick Brennan was crowned King and Katherine Fitzharris was crowned Queen. On hand were Former, Queen Gabby Smith, and Former King, Bobby Dante, to crown the candidates.
In the end, the newly crowned king and queen shared a victorious night with the Crusaders who took the win on this special night with a 14-0 victory.
The event, which is coordinated by the ALJ Student Council was moved to the football game several years ago. Ms. Wronski, advisor to Student Council said, “It is a great opportunity to showcase our students during halftime.”
