Ziplines, sloths, and monkeys, Oh my! Students from Arthur L. Johnson High School will be traveling to Costa Rica during Spring Break 2020. Mr. Reyes, who runs the international trips, has announced that there was so much interest in Costa Rica in 2018, it will be repeated.

An informational meeting will take place on Thursday, December 6 at 7 p.m. in the Clark Recreation Center (Brewer School). Any student in good disciplinary standing currently enrolled at ALJ, or attending UCVTS from Clark or Garwood, is eligible to travel.

The trip consists of 10 high adventure days in Costa Rica. Participants will engage in ziplining over a rain forest, hikes to a volcano crater, bathing in hot springs, kayaking, white water rafting, a crocodile cruise and much more. “ALJ students first traveled to Costa Rica and enjoyed it a great deal in the Spring of 2018,” said Mr. Reyes. “For 2020, we are upping the game by adding horseback riding and improving the meals and hotels. We are also arriving earlier on day one, which means we will hit the ground running.”

The trip is virtually all-inclusive. Airfare, hotel stays, all meals, and admission to all activities are included. Prices for the trip will be revealed at the meeting. Anyone attending the meeting and booking their reservation by December 13 will receive a $100 discount on the full price with a $50 deposit. If anyone cannot make the meeting, students may stop by Room 215 for a brochure after the meeting.
