Batter Up! Clark Parade Welcomes Spring Ball Season

CLARK, NJ - Clark Girls Softball and Clark Little League began their spring seasons a week late but no less enthusiastically with its opening day parade down Westfield Avenue on Saturday.

Pitchers (and catchers, and infielders and outfielders) warmed up their arms by throwing candy instead of balls to adoring fans lining the roadway.  It was a mad dash to claim the best and most of the treats.  One team surprised the crowd with sprays of silly string.

Postponed under threat of heavy rains from its scheduled April 1 start, the traditional team introductions and first pitches followed the parade.
