SUMMIT, NJ- The Arthur L. Johnson High School Crusaders boys varsity basketball team captured a win with a final score of 59-38 against the Oratory Prep High School (Summit) Rams on Saturday afternoon in Summit.

The Crusaders and Rams played a close first quarter, with the Rams taking a 15-12 lead after the first eight minutes of play.

Johnson rebounded in the second quarter, outscoring their opponent 18-9 to take a 30-24 halftime lead, to shake off the early deficit.

The Crusaders took a 50-33 lead after the third quarter, outscoring the Rams 20-9. They would coast through the fourth quarter to capture the victory.

For Johnson, senior George Visconti scored 18 points in the win, while senior Joe DiProfio and junior Brandon Hund each scored 11 points.

For Oratory Prep, senior A.J. Kopacz led his team with 14 points in the loss.

The Johnson Crusaders (8-5) are back in action when they head back out on the road and play at Jonathan Dayton HS (Springfield) on Tuesday, January 30 at 5:30 p.m.

Cranford Man Dies after Wrong-Way Crash on Route 9

WOODBRIDGE, NJ – A Cranford man died after his car collided with another vehicle on Route 9 on Sunday.
