CLARK, NJ – Today is day two in the Clark Board of Education: Focus on the Facts series.    Today’s facts look at the structure of the board.

There are 10 members of the Clark BOE.  One member serves as President and another as Vice President.   Board members serve on committees that meet to research and perform preliminary work on matters that will be brought to the entire board for discussion and a vote.   Examples would include the Curriculum Committee or Personnel Committee.

One member of the Clark BOE represents Garwood students that come to ALJ High School.  This member votes only on agenda items related to the high school.  The Garwood Board of Education elects this representative to the Clark BOE during its January reorganization meeting.
