CLARK, NJ - For the second year in a row, the Township of Clark canceled its Memorial Day parade due to inclement weather. The Clark police department issued the Nixle alert at 7:30 a.m.
According to parade organizer Councilman Alvin Barr, impending rain and the threat of thunderstorms forced the cancelation.
"We just can't take a chance," Barr said.
Weather.gov indicated a 90 percent chance of rain throughout the morning hours.
Although the ceremony traditionally held at the conclusion of the parade was formally canceled, members of the Clark American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Clark Volunteer Rescue Squad placed wreaths at the World War II monument in front of the Arthur L. Johnson High School.
