TRENTON, NJ – One lucky – and patient – Clark man is $2,500,768 richer, after claiming a Pick-6 lottery jackpot, the New Jersey Lottery Commission announced on Thursday.

Joseph Suszko played the same numbers for years, all birthdays and other significant dates, officials said. Coincidentally – or maybe not – Suszko’s win came on his father’s birthday.  The winning numbers were 05, 09, 11, 19, 28, and 29.

Suszko’s strategy for sticking with the same numbers week after week? “Each time his numbers were not drawn, he believed that it simply provided another opportunity for them to be drawn the next time,” lottery officials said.

Suszko read the numbers in disbelief, officials said, rereading the ticket to make sure he had it right.  In shock that he had a winner, he shared the good news with his wife. Lottery officials said she was thrilled with the win and her husband’s long dedication to playing the lottery.

The ticket was purchased at Rahway Discount Liquors, 736 W. Grand Ave. in Rahway.
