CLARK, NJ – Veterans and their families, school officials, students, elected officials, first responders, members of various patriotic veterans’ organizations, Clark UNICO members and residents gathered in front of Arthur L. Johnson High School on Monday morning to commemorate Veterans Day.

Mayor Sal Bonaccorso and other dignitaries gave speeches recognizing veterans that have served the United States through their military service.   As part of the ceremony, wreaths were brought to the War Memorial in front of the school to pay tribute to the memory of all that have served.

Veterans Day was started as Armistice Day after the end of World War I in 1918.   It has been a day to recognize the contributions of those that have served in the Armed Forces ever since.
