CLARK, NJ - Clark Little League 12 year old and Junior Divisions 13 and 14 year olds will battle Tuesday night for Little League International NJ District 10 championships.
It would be the first time ever for Clark Little League to win two titles in one night and the second year in a row winning two District 10 Championships. It would also be the first title for the Junior Division in its fourth year of existence.
The 12 year old Little League team has won District championships as 10 year olds and 11 year olds. They will play at home at the Clark Little League complex after Sunday night’s 10-0 win against Somerset Hills in Sayreville.
The 12s have been dominant in pool play beating Perth Amboy 5-4 and 15-0, Somerset Hills 10-0, Old Bridge 13-2 and finally beating South River 17-7. They will play Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. against the winner of Monday night's Greenbrook vs Somerset Hills game.
The talented Junior League 13 and 14 year old team also dominated in pool play, going 3-1 to propel themselves into the best-of-three championship series against Sayreville at Old Bridge field.
The Clark Juniors opened pool play with an 11-0 win against Sayrewoods South, followed by a tough 4-3 loss to Sayreville. They then finished pool play with impressive wins over Old Bridge 5-2 and Milltown 11-0, putting them into the championship series against Sayreville.
In game 1 of the series Sunday night, Clark won a thrilling pitchers battle, 2-1, allowing them a chance to wrap it up Tuesday.
