CLARK, NJ – What’s red and blue and laughing out loud by the end of a sprint? On Friday afternoon the answer would have been Clark police officers and volunteer fire fighters at a Color Run Race designated to raise funds for their organizations.
The race held at the Featherbed Lane School raised $3,800 which will be donated to the Clark PBA and Clark Volunteer Fire Departments. According to Det. Sergeant Christian Lot, the officers and emergency responders were more than happy to join in the fun with the children. “It’s really a great thing they are doing for our members, and we are glad to be here,” said Lott.
This year, camp counselors lined the sidelines with blue and red colored powder, ready to douse runners from head to toe. By the end of the event, campers, first responders and counselors looked like a tied-dyed menagerie of human beings in a collective of summer fun.
School Director, Gina Faria said they like to do a “Giving Back to the Community” event each year and find an organization to which they donate the proceeds of their event.
