Clark Sophomore Rama and Benjamin, who lives in North Plainfield, reached the quarterfinals in Junior Varsity Public Forum Debate.

Union Catholic Head Forensics Coach Edward Sagendorf was very happy with how his team performed, and said it was a great bonding experience for the team.

"The team had a wonderful time this past weekend at UPenn,'' said Coach Sagendorf. "This was a great opportunity for them to prepare for the final two meets of the season. Sunday's debate breaks were a victory for the entire team. We are so proud of their tremendous accomplishments!"

Beardsley, who broke for the first time in her career, is pleasantly surprised by how well her first year on the forensics team is going.

"I'm very shocked at how well I have been doing with my partner this season having never done debate before,'' said Beardsley, who lives in Scotch Plains. "I'm grateful for my partners thus far, the team, and coach for guiding me. When we broke in Varsity at UPenn I was very excited and shocked that we were able to break. This was my first varsity break, and I'm excited to continue with forensics in the future."

Hunsinger was very excited about how well she and Beardsley did together.

"It was great working with Alana and I'm really happy with how we did together,'' said Hunsinger, who lives in Cranford. "To break and get to finals the first-time being partners was very exciting.''
