CLARK, NJ - Children at Valley Road School recently participated in a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) activity requiring ingenuity and planning.

The students began the lesson with the children listening to the story Pete the Cat….I Love My White Shoes

Afterwards the students were placed into small groups and given only tape and plastic straws. They were asked to work together to design a bridge that would safely carry the books’ main character Pete over a patch of strawberries.
