CLARK, NJ – A seven-unit condominium building will soon stand on the site of the Clark Power Equipment property at 1132 Westfield Ave. The Clark Planning Board voted unanimously in favor of an application presented by Vincenzo Associates at its meeting Thursday night.

Site engineer Edward Dec said the single seven-unit structure is a better use of the lot’s size and shape than two smaller units would have been. The building will be set back 30 feet from the property line, he said.

“Right now we have a large, continuous open space in the back,” Dec said.

The area is zoned for townhouses, and so the project is a “conforming use” for the property, whereas the previous retail operation was not, Dec said.

The design incorporates seven garaged parking spaces and 10 exterior parking spaces including one handicapped accessible space.  Pole-mounted, traditional “gas-light style” high pressure sodium lights will illuminate the development and provide a “softer look,” Dec said.

Developer George Sangiuliano said he expects work to begin sometime in March, 2017.
