Family Support and Prevention is a program that provides specific services to families with children who are struggling with health challenges and/or educational obstacles and families who need emergency financial assistance. For financial assistance please refer to the Flex Funds requirements prior to applying:



  • Must have at least one child under the age of 18 in the household
  • One person in the household must have proof of legal status in the United States


  • Government Issued Photo ID for client applying for assistance (NJ Driver’s License, NJ State ID, Passport, Alien Registration Card, Visa)
  • Social Security Cards (for all members of the household who are US citizens)
  • Birth Certificates (for all members of the household under 18 years old)
  • Proof of all household income sources (current month of Paystubs, Unemployment Statement, Worker’s Compensation, Social Security, Disability and/or TANF-Welfare)
  • For “Utility Assistance” (Past Due Invoice or Shut-Off Notice)
  • For “Rental Assistance” (Rent invoice from landlord indicating past due amount)
  • For “Other” (demonstrated need for food, furniture, clothing, medical bills, etc.)
  • Household Budget Worksheet (will be completed at Intake)
  • Financial Literacy Workshop (will be scheduled at intake)
